From 1991 until the present LVKS has been a premier kite club in the kiting community, and now the legacy continues with PKS. The Lehigh Valley Kite Society merged with the Pocono Kite Symphony in February of 2008. (PKS) is a new kite club in the Pocono area of eastern Pennsylvania. Until PKS is up to speed, this website will serve as the sounding board for all matters regarding kiting in eastern PA and the surrounding area. To contact PKS, all inquiries should go to Andy Gelinas, who can be reached at andy@poconokitesymphony.com .

Since LVKS was formed in 1991, it has grown into one of the formidable kite clubs in the USA. We set the nationwide standards in kids kite building, competition, innovative ground and aerial displays and camaraderie among kite fliers.

Kite Building - Over 15,000 pocket sled kites have been built in our year-round kids kitebuilding workshops. Local community groups as well as distant kiting events host kitebuilding sessions, where kids of all ages can build and fly their own kites. For more information about how to have a kitebuild for your group click here.
Kite Day in the Park - The first Saturday of May, LVKS holds its annual kite festival at Louise Moore Park in Bethlehem Township, PA. Thousands of participants and spectators take advantage of a spring day to enjoy the outdoors and fly their kites.
Competition Flying - Is another of the many facets of kite flying. LVKS had two competition teams, the Valli Boyz and the Valli Girlz. There are also individual members who have competed.
Club Projects - Various projects help LVKS promote kiting through a group effort while improving our building techniques. Things we built as a group: Three Rokakku Kites, A Quilted Style Flag, Feather Flags, Cabanas and much much more.
